Welcome to my Blog

Hi everyone,

I am Jinzhu LYU, but I prefer my friends call me Bamboo, which is the translation of my Chinese name.

I am studying my master degree at the university of Exeter in UK. It is also my first time study abroad. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Shenyang Conservatory of Music the Arts Management in China. I regard myself as an art student, but actually I can not plan any instruments. My new subject MA: Creativity: Innovation and Business Strategy provide me a new view to think about arts and business. I have a strong interest in exploring the relationship between creativity and business. I think that those who are able to apply their unique creativity into business world will not only succeed professionally, but also have the power to trigger off innovative industries as pathfinders. This is what I am willing to do in future—utilizing forward-thinking approach to explore creative and cultural industry and being part of creative arts events planning.

I organized some events before. For example the Castle in the sky Anime Concert & recruitment fair, I creatively combined this recruitment fair with an audio-visual concert. Our job fair began with this concert after which the orchestra would offer employment opportunities for students from orchestral music, keyboard and related majors. At last, this activity was successfully held and many students were provided with important job opportunities.

I also grasp every opportunity to improve my practical capabilities. Especially, in light of my interest, I have always got involved in the creative planning and organizing of a wide range of cultural activities. In 2017 I took charge of a book sharing session called Literal Photosynthesis. As the main activity planner and organizer, I was busy with personnel placement and business negotiation with different partners. It was quite amusing for me to find a balance between art and business, and in this way I was filled with strong creativity, enjoyment and sense of accomplishment. Taking targeted audiences and equipment requirement into consideration, I finally chose to hold our session in the ladder hall of Shenyang Jiuwu Cultural City Bookstore.

Beyond that, last term our group game designed a outline in-store puzzle game for NGNG, a local living and plan store, and a online application. This term we will be absorbed in giving some pop-up events like Slow Living and Made in China…..

Looking forward to your visit and I will be happy if you want to have a chat with me about culture and creative industry or Chinese culture.
